Research Associate (Part-time) Development of ICPMS Analytical Capability

Applications are invited for the above post based within the Division of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, School of Biosciences, at the University Park campus.
The duties of the successful candidate will include the operation of an Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICPMS), for biological and geochemical assays, and development of improved techniques for multi-element analysis.  Routine work will also involve sample acquisition and preparation, data processing procedures and liaising closely with 'non-user' clients.
Candidates should have a BSc in an appropriate chemical, geochemical or biological science.  Practical experience with ICPMS operation is vital.
Salary will be within the range £24,273 - £26,523 (pro-rata) per annum depending on skills and experience. Hours of work are 4 per week. This post will be offered on a fixed- term contract for a period of 36 months.
